There have been numerous trial race-wars (most recent being Los Angeles, April 1992).. The best they could do was hold out 3-4 days before they were stomped back down...

Not really, that was a byproduct of other wacky shenanigans..... He was preaching his Helter Skelter crap way before the murders. If I remember right, one of his main guys, Bobby Beausoliel, was arrested and jailed for the torture/murder of Gary Hinman (?), a "Family Friend" who they thought had a shitload of cash and/or drugs they wanted. Manson thought that the police would release BobbyB if they could create the impression that Black Panthers were running amok killing white people. Plus, he was pissed off at Doris Day's son who had lived at the Cielo Drive house and Manson thought he still lived there, so he sent his goons out to do some killing and make it look like a racial crime....Then they killed the LaBiancas to add fuel to the fire....

So Yes and No....
