Robin Quivers undecided on when she will return to Howard Stern Show studio
Howard Stern Show co-pilot
Robin Quivers has been broadcasting from home via ISDN line for nearly eight months now, and Wednesday she was confronted by a caller about whether she will ever return to the studio in person.
The question was prompted by
Quivers' absence from the show (even via ISDN) on both Friday and Monday's show.
Howard Stern frequently reams his staffers any time they have to miss a broadcast, and spent nearly 30 minutes on Wednesday's show ripping staff members who were scheduled to attend the Consumer Electronics Show this weekend when he wants them at work.
“You put up with things with Robin that you wouldn’t put up with from someone else," said the caller.
While Stern has built his career on going over the personal details of his staffers' lives with a fine tooth comb, he has bent over backwards to avoid discussing the details surrounding Quivers' absence. She has been out of the studio since undergoing "major abdominal surgery" in May 2012 after a grapefruit sized tumor was found pressing on her bladder, and has pulled off a total media blackout on her condition since then.
Since Stern took on the valiant role of privacy protector to shield his Lady Robin, it was up to pesky callers to push the envelope for more intel.
"When are you coming back to the studio!" asked the caller.
“I haven’t decided yet," responded Quivers.
Quivers reportedly attended the Howard Stern Show holiday party in person in December 2012, and is scheduled to start a book tour in March to promote "Vegucating Robin".
