If you have a wedding to plan or a prom to chaperone, you'll want take a look at the 2013 Lincoln MKT limousine caught testing by our spy photographers. The shape of your next stretched limo is about to be drastically altered, as Lincoln finally retires the long-serving Town Car from duty. The full-size rear-wheel-drive luxury sedan is finally coming to the end of its roadthe Panther platform it's based on dates back to the Carter presidency. Lincoln clearly needed a substitute, and the MKT crossover is being prepped to fill the role.

Goodbye Town Car
While it's long overdue for replacement, the rugged body-on-frame Town Car has been a favorite of taxi and limo companies for many years. The white MKT limo spotted by our photographers appears to be very much a work in progress, with a strange-looking center section that looks like it was borrowed from a Boeing. The nose on this prototype also appears to be taken from the last generation MKT; the new MKT has a finer grille and slimmer headlights.

Gone is the 4.6-liter V-8 engine found in the Town Car. Instead, the MKT limo will be powered by a 3.7-liter V-6 coupled to a 6-speed automatic, and there will be a choice of front- or all-wheel-drive. It seems likely that Lincoln will offer a version of the twin-turbocharged EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6, though nothing has been officially confirmed. We are absolutely certain, however, that rear legroom will not be an issue.
...looks like a stretch soccer mom car.
What do you guys think?
