Rice (saute garlic/onion, add the rice, cook it in chicken broth. Add turmeric for yellow color. Or cumin seed with the garlic and onion)

I have rice, pasta (no orzo), and cous cous I think, but that might be really old.

Yeah, but I don't want to get into a whole production. I can throw some rice on to simmer while the meat is still going, and doing it with onion and garlic like that sounds quick and easy.

Hell no, they're fine. Unless they've gotten freezer burned and have ice crystals all over them. They won't hurt you, but they'll taste stale if that's the case. I'll bet they're fine, it's not even Februrary yet. (I found some that were a year old this year. They tasted good to me. )
