My friend watched those shows. I hung out with her when her daughter was just a baby (she's now 25, heh) and if you watched One Life to Live back then, you'll remember Jessica Tuck, who played Nan on True Blood.

They picked up a lot of actors from other soaps. Wally Kurth, Eileen Davidson. All the actors work on other soaps. Others jumped back and forth like Genie Francis (had a role on Days) and Stephen Nichols (Patch). Sometimes a storyline plays out and the actor splits for awhile until interest in their character reemerges.

I'd Watch One life to live in the late 70's because they'd always have some hot chick in lingerie ... and the whole Luke and Laura deal on General hospital. But after cable became available there were more viewing options. Hard to believe that they've found programming even more banal to replace soap operas.

... and Dark Shadows was the greatest daytime program ever.

ah yes. Meg and jake! I remember them well. I remember how hokey her death scene was. Jake dragged her to her hospital window to look at a tree...then she died.

first? She was never fat. A little pudgy, but you're right about her now. Stick thin. And plastic.

Those boobs are fucking fake. And Kristian Alfonso wears way too much make-up.

Other than that, she's fucking beautiful.

Yes!! That's right. I totally forgot the cause. Then Marty Saybrook (another lupus afflicted character) got gang raped by a fraternity.

Lupus was apparently a big affliction in Llanview.
