Is Howard still better than anything else

On regular radio? If he went back to regular FM/AM radio, would he still be better than anything else on there? I haven't listened to regular radio in a very long time (got sirius in 2005) so i have no idea.
Any opinions?

I get more laughs from one segment of Artie's fucked up show, than I did from weeks of wiggys output between 2009-11.
So I think it's fair to say that unless the show became fantastic after I stopped listening in March 2011, his show isnt even
the best thing on Howard 101.

There are many political oriented and sports shows that are heads and tails above the 2013 Howard Stern Show but I'm guessing you mean entertainment type shows and I go to podcasts to fill that need. Imus puts out a show on terrestrial, that may not get you laughing, but he does present an entertaining show of competing voices and current intelligent guests - the listener might learn something without being bombarded by someone with the taste of a 15 year old suburban girl.

Here in Tampa one of our local rock stations went to all talk. I'd say he couldn't even compete with the shows on that station in his current state.
But with ratings being on the line and his quickly dissolving marriage who knows? the old queen might get motivated and angry enough to actually put some effort into the show again. I can't imagine with his ego he'd be content to sit around and get shit stomped buy some of the younger guys.

I have the opposite opinion from yours. Will see how this Malone thing shakes out if Malone even gives a shit about some douche who's got a tight contract, and the untalented staff is definitely putting in the extra effort but Howard's comfortable pocketing the budget and coming in 5 minutes before air time. The man lost the skill to improvise and create the only radio he was ever good at and I think he's got the weak knees that comes from knowing that he's a hollow shell. So, I think his ego will have him drift away quietly taking calls from Bobo, MFB and ETM to the very end rather than try and risk failing only to look the fool (not the Hair System on his head kind of fool but the dancing on the stage at AGT or singing ad hoc broadway lyrics for 20 minutes kind of fool).

As for getting his shit stomped by some of the younger guys, they just won't be mentioned ala Artie, Robin or Zoo za zoo or he'll give some delusional story like he was in the hotel room when that Jimmy Kimmel picture photo was taken of Jennifer Aniston.

I would rather listen to Tradio than THHS in it's current state, I gave up after the recent George Takai week and I haven't looked back. I just listen to the archives of Bubba The Love Sponge and Howard pre Sirius

Agree! What really pissed me off though is when Sirius cancelled the Public Radio International channel a few years ago. Then last year they cancelled the second NPR channel 123. Rat bastards!!!

You should be able to get every NPR PRI channel on your Iphone/computer from a hundred different streaming websites. Try TuneIn for starters.

I live in Milwaukee, so we never had a Howard affiliate in the area during his FM years. We had Mancow, and for the summers I'd work 5am-1pm at a golf course, I have to admit I enjoyed the show. This was 2000-2001.

if you want a good laugh, check out where Mancow is currently being carried. he used to be a pretty big deal in the Midwest.

In San Diego their is the DSC show "dave, shelly and Chainsaw" I like it, it's a lot better than what Howard puts out, I quit my subscription to sirius last month.
