Rolling Stone: Howard Stern is the 18th Funniest Person Right Now

Howie's favorite relevant happening music mag Rolling Stone has an arbitrary top 50 list of "the 50 funniest people right now" on their website, and Howard Stern is listed at #18, just behind Jimmy Kimmel at #17.

Howard promotes Rolling Stone, so probably not much fact is reported by them.

No sacha baron cohen. No danny mcbride. No seth rogen. Just to name a few. But hey, jon stewart and stephen colbert right at the top. The list is what's laughable here.

    What a shitty list

Age has mellowed Howard Stern in the best way possible. At 59, he knows he doesn't need to waste time lashing out at perceived rivals or proving his shock-jock credentials by interviewing an endless parade of porn stars and freaks. Now in his seventh year on Sirius XM, he does revealing and hilarious interviews with guests ranging from Revenge of the Nerds star Robert Carradine to Lady Gaga to J.B. Smoove. More importantly, he's painfully honest about his own life, sharing everything from his failed attempt to push his parents into a rest home to his newfound interest in babysitter-themed pornography. Can you imagine Letterman or Leno going there?

For as much as Howie mentions the magazine and Matt TIE-BEE, it doesn't surprise me in the least. I'm sure Wenner beats off on to Wiggy.

    I love this line:

    .

Seriously?!? Turning into a hypocritical eunic who drones on endlessly about his Hamptons lifestyle and AGT and shamelessly celebrity name drops it the best way for what was once one of the edgy radio hosts in history to age?

This Rolling Stone list is what is wrong with Rolling Stone these days. The list is littered with comedians who have either plugged the mag (Stern) or had a recent featur/cover article about them (Kimmel, Jon Stewart). And of course, they go heavy on the liberal politic comedians (Stewart, Steve Colbert, Bill Mahr, various former and current cast members of the Daily Show).

Many people on list haven't been funny in a decade. Will Ferrell, Jerry Seinfeld, Stern, Letterman, and Bill Murray would have been excellent selections circa 2003.

Also, although he is definitely not geared to my age demo, I think Daniel Tosh should be on this list, but of course if Tosh isn't geared to my age demo, he certainly isn't geared to the Rolling Stone staff's age demo.

Rolling Stone is the magazine version of Howard. Once cutting edge and edgy, it has become bland and mainstream and far too predictable. And quite frankly a bore of a read.

what rolling stone means is howard doesn't bash gays and blacks. as you said, he's turned into a eunuch.
