Well, he COULD talk, but then he wouldn't get paid. There was a local ESPN show host that I listened to who was fired for insulting Desmond Howard, and he actually turned them down and got another show on a rival station. All he does now is badmouth ESPN. I don't blame him, I would shut my mouth for nearly 1 million.

If his contract was so bad via his reps Don Buchwald and Associates, that it isn't pay or play, then, yea, he basically has to. Maybe he got terminated with cause (wouldn't that be funny, he did something to get fired but Artie's still kickin'). I still bet they sat down with him and offered a lump sum and maybe a premium for a non disclosure, non compete (since that would be in a pay or play anyway)

That would make the most sense to me--pay him out the rest of his contract for the year, then pocket the remaining scratch.

Nick won't be able to shut up completely though. Count on him to go on Maron, Carolla, or Fitzsimmons podcasts and divulge something.
