I just want to throw my hat in the ring here, and say that I'm a conservative of the William F. Buckley Jr. sort. I think these changes are good, and necessary. The fact is that the Republican party has not been an intellectually conservative party in a long time, it's been taken over by corporate social climbers and religious fanatics, and because Fox News didn't have the stones to take them on conservatism suffered.
I mostly get my news from The Weekly Standard and the The National Review, Fox News always came across like pro-wrestling to me. Chris Wallace is an exception, and I like Red Eye, but O'Reilly and a lot of the other anchors are just playing characters. Here's my point: any real conservative will tell you that Mitt Romney and John McCain are not and never were real conservatives. They were men who wanted to be president because they thought they deserved it due to their military career or financial standing. Because most reasonable candidates know they can't compete, the only candidates who rise up to challenge them are kooks. It makes the party look phony or full of wackjobs. It's really been 16 years since we had a true conservative candidate, in Bob Dole (I would call W. more of a populist than anything), and if Fox News will just get back to serious journalism of the type that Chris Wallace does, maybe we can actually get a decent candidate. The last election should have been a slam dunk, and only an un-intellectual, social climbing idiot like MItt Romney could have blown it.
Not sure if (srs)
If you're sincere then welcome to the fray. It would be a nice change to argue with someone who's got something more to say than "Libtards! (insult deny SPIN evade sling-shit) HAHAHAHAHHA!" or "Because Jeeeeeezuss told me personally that Libtards are Satanic and I see Demons torturing me
........".
See this is why I call you a troll, not because of any differing opinion we may have. Heinous Mark just posts his opinion and never starts shit, but you just bust in with your trolling because its who you are. Just embrace it rather than continue the fassad of diplomacy.
Thank you for illustrating my point. I regret explaining what a "straw man" is because you immediately started wedging the term into every post you made for at least a month. Not sure about the "hearsay" unless you are referring to personal anecdotes...
He's like one of those trap-door spiders. Just sits and waits all day for someone to make a post and then springs on them with mockery, and never really addresses the issues at hand. Most of the "righties" here are more or less the same, and a couple of the "lefties", too. So I just pop in from time to time, say my piece, and leave.
btw, it's "facade"

yes, the most successful cable news network, Fox News, has dragged every other news outlet kicking and screaming to the right.
success has a thousand fathers; failure is an orphan.
and boy is the liberal media an orphan these days![]()
