Burt Reynolds Hospitalized with the super-flu

Burt Reynolds is being treated in the intensive care unit at a Florida hospital ... after coming down with a nasty case of the flu ... TMZ has learned.

According to Burt's rep ... Burt, like everyone else in the country, caught that nasty flu bug that's been going around ... and was coping with the symptoms for several days.

But the symptoms got worse, and Burt was admitted to the hospital. The rep tells us Burt was moved to the ICU earlier today after doctors determined he was "severely dehydrated."

The good news -- we're told doctors are optimistic that he will make a full recovery.

We're told Reynolds' mustache is also doing OK.

Please stay with us Mr. Reynolds, Thought's and Prayers. He's one of my personel heros, Why can't Howchie get the Super Flu?

Burt got his jaw broke filming a scene in City Heat. Had TMJ and lost a bunch of weight. That bitch Kathleen Turner spread a rumor he had AIDS.

Stick was Burt's first comeback movie. Underrated flick, outstanding supporting cast and a pretty cool story. Panned by the critics.
