I don't think it's cruel to chip an animal. I haven't chipped a pet, but I don't think it's cruel. And nor is de-clawing a cat necessarily cruel. It can be cruel, I suppose, but for people who, say, have a cat that will not stop tearing their shit up, no matter how much they've tried to "train" that cat, and it's a choice between putting the cat into the already over-burdened shelters OR de-claw? If it's indoor? Why not?
