Scott Savol was also revealed to have been convicted of a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct for domestic violence. However, no action was taken against either of them by the show producers because they had revealed their misdemeanor in advance.

That's fine. But...it opens the door to another question, which is relevant: how many non-white applicants answered yes and were automatically disqualified?

This argument is about the employment application.

Ahhhh but there is rub. Is this an actual employment application they are filling out and are they getting paid prior to the end of the show and the subsequent tour? Gotta remember that this is actually a game show/ talent show so the rules you are citing may not even apply.

Nah, I think all employment, no matter what the job, requires a person to fill out some type of formal application for employment.

If not, I'm sure there's some type of document that acts as such, but let's see.

That's fine. The statement "(t)hey could be disqualified if they lied about their past" still does not respond to whether or not asking the question "have you ever been arrested" is legal.

See? Yes, it's splitting hairs, but that's what lawsuits and the law are about. I'm sure you can be disqualified for things you haven't lied about too, right?

What will be revealed is that AI has allowed both blacks and whites to be on the show with crime in their past. If you are honest about it up front and they are still able to make you a feel good story you can be a part of the show.

Idol loves urban Americans.
They are by far over represented on the show.

Somehow their bosses allow them to take lots of time off from work to be on TV shows...
