favorite moment last night was a live look in and Bocchetti commenting about finding a red light district in New Orleans and Artie saying "I'm gettin your pipes cleaned every night we're down there if i have to do it myself!" Bocchett's excitement throwing out the double arm extension for a hug had me in stitches.

Really? Then how come they don't go to break half as much as they did when Nick was there? How come they don't cut off guests and send them on their way like they did when Nick was there? How come guests hang around now (never mind all the random people that have come to hang out) and never did before when Nick was there? That is too much for me to think that it wasn't Nick who was controlling when the breaks happened, and who stayed and how long they did. Even if he didn't literally say to a guest-"you can't stay the whole show", by Nick acting as miserable as he would at times, and how sick of a quest he'd seem to get at times-well you didn't need to have that said to you. Who would WANT to stay?

I am willing to bet that is something that drove Artie nuts too. He seemed like he always wanted guests to stay longer, or to have people just drop by, and have the studio be a "hang" as he called it. Nick didn't want that.

The night last week were they had quite a few people randomly stop by (it was the night Dave Attell stopped in) if that had some how happened when Nick was there, I can see Nick totally losing his mind and saying on air that there was too many people in the studio, that it was too crazy and he couldn't concentrate.

Now it seems like the guests want to stay as long as they can, or just drop by and hang out etc. The whole place seems more relaxed and much more fun than it was when Nick was there. Another thing that was also kinda telling for me when Nick was there was when he would scream at whoever to shut the air off when the show was on. Really Nick? You couldn't just ask nicely? Or ask when you were sitting there before the show came back on the air during one of the million breaks you would always go to? No, he had to wait until they were back on the air to try and humiliate that person by yelling at them on the air. The more and more I think about it, I really think Nick was just a miserable jerk and I am glad he's' gone (and I am willing to bet-although they'd never admit it-that a lot of people that work at The Artie Lange Show are too).

It tells me that Nick was cutting everyone off with always having to go to break, and that no one hung around like they do now because Nick must have made it miserable.
i kind of felt Nick was soo bad at interviewing, he would need to crowbar the time left in segment, to feel he is inputting or keeping show on course....... last few wks he would actually seem to take a couple of minutes to discuss floating commercial breaks vs hard breaks, as if listener gives a fuck. i don't necessarily think Nick was being malicious all the time with it, but it did interupt the flow and it seemed he would discuss it more often each show.

I agree. I could never really totally get into enjoying a segment because I knew at any second Nick was going to lower the boom and call for a break. It was just ridiculous. And the fact like you said that he would go out of his way to waste time and explain the kinds of breaks etc proved more to me that he was the one who had the power to call for a break and did so when other people got on a roll. Mark my words, if there was some one from Fox News or some sort of Republican Commentator on, he would have let that person go on as long as they wanted too with no break.

holy shit you are ignorant. i don't like fox news but i think sherrod small is funny. why are you liberals so obsessed? it's not always about fox news. turn off michael moore and ray maddow you might be less angry/crazy. btw, i don't like nick b/c of his politics. i like him because he's one of the funniest comics around. don't worry, your prez who is rapidly bankrupting the country just got reelected so your childish and unquestioned beliefs are safe for at least four more years.

Nicks not my cup of tea but I can see how some people could like him if your into that kind of hacky miserable guy stuff but to say hes "one of the funniest comdeians around" is a bit much, Im a big artie fan but I dont consider him one of the funniest comedians around either. Lewis black has the same angry miserable guy type schtick sp? and while it gets old pretty quick he still does that kind of material 1000x better than nick. If nick was so funny he'd have more work besides like a 2 second unfunny clip of him on worlds dumbest from like 2010, he' s just not very good IMO but if other people like him thats cool, theres plenty of comedians i think that are funny that other people might not.

I love a guy that says I don't like fox news and then shits out a bunch of fox news bullshit. I am way too far to the left to like Michael Moore or Obama

Bad Santa was great, though. I miss John Ritter; he was a class act, that guy.

A Simple Plan was kind of cool, too..............which leads me to the real diamond in this rough: Frailty.
OK, I looked up Frailty. I'm gonna check that one out. Looks good.

Its strange that he was involved in music first and did the movies as a secondary thing.
I had one of his CDs kicking around here for a while and it kinda sucked. I thought he was trying to do Harry Dean Stanton's thing but couldn't pull it off.

Man, they've really got to get more of these live look-ins on Youtube.
That football one from a couple of weeks ago was funny as fuck too.
