I don't have trees and I have leaves, I don't have cats and I have shit. not much I can do about the trees.

People need to start taking responsibility for their pets. I have a dog and she doesn't cause any extra work on anyone but me.

A guy who works at my local gun shop is a native Australian. Before he came here in 2000 he was allowed to own rifles in Australia and volunteered to hunt feral cats on his land and nearby (Southern, rural Australia.) I hated the thought of shooting cats, but when e explained the damage they were doing, I understood the need for it. In just a couple decades the feral cat population in that area reeked havoc. It was fucking up the whole eco system.

I know I couldn't do it though.

I know about that. I could never do it either, but something has to be done. The native wildlife has no way to deal with them.

I spent a few summers on my uncle's farm when I was a kid. It was mostly fun, to be honest. Yeah, I had to shovel shit, clean pens, blah blah, but it was a ton of fun even with the work. It was different.

Anyways, my uncle had some barn cats around. He didn't fix them, so the things would fuck and fuck and pop out kittens. He'd kill most the kitten, if not all of them to keep the population down. One year, he'd acquired probably about a dozen problem cats. We shot them. They were getting into the hens. We didn't shoot his favored barn cats, but the newcomers? Boom. I shot two before I realized I was the one who was going to collect the carcasses and burn them.

It sucked but you kind of turn that part of your brain off.

I did enjoy shooting squirrels, however. I hate squirrels.

Going forward, the spay and neuter requirements have to be stricter.

No shit. The crazy people who trap ferals, sterilize, and release need to be sterilized themselves.

Too many strays. Kill them. Been to a shelter lately? It's pathetic.

I love cats and hate to see them killed. I'm for getting it under control, and then fining the shit out of people who harbor them without getting them fixed. I'm not talking about legitimate breeders and people who keep them indoors.

Yes... I use traps...with tuna for bait...but we need to address this here in the USA...breeders need to be licensed, any adoption from rescue must be spayed or neutered...there are too many dogs and cats being put down every day..

I'm not sure they NEED to be licensed, but it is an option. I would of course trap them, but the problem in some places is just too big.
