    ??????????

You think the average person knows or will be able to name Stranglehold or Wango Tango which is the extent of my Ted Nugent discography.

    3 fucking songs.
By 'average person', I suppose you're referring to yourself and other people your age.

Like him or not, Ted Nugent was one of the biggest acts in the world for a pretty good stretch in the late 70's - early 80's. Starting around '77 or '78, dude was filling 20,000 seat arenas during the week and then co-headlining football stadiums and speedways on the weekends. This wasn't just for one or two tours, either. He had a good run for five or six years then and can still go out and sell a thousand tickets at 30 or 40 bucks a piece now, 30 years later. It takes more than a 3 song repertoire to do that.

Oh, and for the record, Ted is completely fucking nuts!

And we thought it fuckin' rocked...at the time. Don't know if I listened to it now if it holds up after all these years though.
My buddies and I were on a road trip to see Iron Maiden a couple of months ago, and a TS song came up on shuffle and we decided to listen to "Stay Hungry" in its entirety. It actually has held up pretty well, fun to sing along to and weedley-wee to the solos. We went back and listened to all the old TS albums on my iPod afterward. Their biggest hit to me was the weakest song on that album, but it made for a fun video. I actually loved the last real TS album "Come Out and Play" because it was darker and heavier, but apparently no one else did. As for Ted, the only song I could hum to you is "Cat Scratch Fever." I know the titles of a couple of others, but have no clue what they sound like (and I'm 40).

The drummer Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden owns a restaurant nearby (Rock n Roll Ribs) that we go to. It's full of their gold records and memborabilia and always some concert blasting on the screen. Last time we were there Nicko was there and went around talking to the patrons. Seemed like a nice guy.

I'd much rather see Maiden again. Saw them twice and they fuckin' killed. Bruce is the fuckin' MAN! And not that fuckin' Jersey boy either.

No....by "average person"....I mean people who are aware of an artist or band but aren't/weren't specifically fans of them then or now.

And someone can have a very successful stretch of high selling albums/singles and sold out tours and still only become known for and get remembered for one song after their heyday has come and gone. The music industry is full of them.

And crazy Uncle Ted is one of them same as with the aforementioned Rush. Only that clownshoe fake Blowjob King Jon Hein believes that more than 1 out of 1000 people can name a Rush song not called Tom Sawyer.

You want some examples of acts that aren't? Aren't synonymous with and remembered for just one song their biggest hit? Van Halen, AC/DC, Aerosmith, ect. Ask the "average person" to name *their* songs and you'll get all kinds of answers.....

Dee Snider is basically the 80's version of Adam Levine.........i.e. in it for everything but the music

He wrote every one of Twisted Sister's songs, music and lyrics. Now if you hate TS, that's not much of an accomplishment, but he is indeed a musician.

I've only seen them twice in my life, and both times were incredible. "Run to the Hills" gave me goosebumps, hearing all those people singing along around me. I'd run home from school and put on "Live After Death" to be the soundtrack to my homework, so when I do see them live, it takes me back to being a kid again. And yeah, that entire band in their 50's puts more energy and effort into their shows than any other band I've seen, it's just amazing that they're able to still do it.

How can you not dig The Trooper!

You'll take my life but I'll take yours too
You'll fire your musket but I'll run you through
So when you're waiting for the next attack
You'd better stand there's no turning back

I put it right up there with the St. Crispin's Day speech in Henry V:

If you don't own this, you need to: http://www.amazon.com/Flight-666-Blu.../dp/B0026MS4V2

My old band covered "The Trooper" at our final show. It was sort of a last minute decision (like, day before), so it's sloppy, but we did manage to wrangle up a Union Jack in time My fiance made a surprise trip to a flag store, gotta love her. That's me doing the "singing":

"Scream for me Memphis" at 3:00, my loving tribute to Bruce

I was the same way, lol. First heard Maiden back around 85' been a hardcore fan ever since. I wore out my vhs copy of Live After Death, must have watched it 10,000 times, one of the greatest concert films ever recorded. Run to the Hills does cause goose bumps it's that friggin' good! Bruce's operatic pipes really shine on this one!

    Wait,
Who are Dee Snider and Ted Nugent?

  20. #80
Here's Crazy Uncle Ted's actual best song and at least it's original.....

......since the only song most people actually remember him for (Cat Scratch Fever) is an inferior rip-off of Deep Purple's Smoke On The Water.
