Yeah, but they were 26-28 years old at the time, Kobe and Nash are 34 and 38 with a shitload of miles on their legs. I thought Mitch Kupchak was a genius for the Howard move, but Howard's weakness of character has been made manifest and , giving him a little benefit of the doubt, it doesn't look like he's ever recovered from the offseason back surgery. He used to be ferocious around the rim , so fast to get multiple jumps in before the guy on other team could jump once, and I just don't see that supreme athleticism that took him and a bunch of scrubs in Orlando to the Finals and netted Howard multiple DPOY and a MVP consideration. What really fucked the Lakers was the league stepping in and nixing the Chris Paul trade.
