Yeah, I'm sure it was around there, and I know I've hit some insane speeds on bomb runs, but I just keep remembering feeling like I was going 100 mph on the water and my buddy was all "We were doing 35, you pussy!"

No shit. I think we're the same age...47. Took me 18 months to lose the cane and another year to finally lose the pain when I did anything strenuous leg wise. Been hitting the treadmill like crazy, riding my bike almost every day for over a year or so now and I just started road running again a few months ago. Besides some usual knee pain, I'm back to just about 100%.

Yup, water is totally different.....I've been up to 80MPH in a friend's flat racer and that's something I never wanna try again...sick
