Mine did too. I was bleeding out and going into shock and things came and went in slow motion. I was relaxed actually, not nervous at all. I had a brassy taste in my mouth too. Never had it before or since.

i have heard about the brassy taste before...another unexplained thing.

Were you calm? I think just from the blood loss in my case, but I was really fine and ok with dying, actually relived that the 'hard part' was done. I was trying to tell people I loved them and not to worry, it was ok.

I haven't googled it but the brassy taste must have to do with blood loss. There must be a biochemical reason for it.

When you say you went blind did it come on as tunnel vision and then take on a black and white checkerboard appearance? I've had that several times.

I was in a pedestrian vs vehicle incident and had the full boat. Memories, the long bridge, and silent conversation with a dead cousin. Unfortunately I was comatose for a couple weeks, so I don't know if it happened immediately or at a later point. I also have had an out of body experience, but I don't do LSD any more.

Yes, gutshot, through and through.

The scene in Saving Private Ryan when the Tom Hank's character buys it was the most internally correct representation of the experience I know of. Things become hyper real and slow down. You realize people are speaking and moving but that you aren't there with them anymore. Your mind is dying along with your body.
