I want to investigate the back story on a house without having to ask a real estate agent.

Also, there is another house that was foreclosed on and a bank bought it at a sheriffs auction. Where could I find out what the bank paid for it?

Call a Title company and they can give you the background on the house, including all past owners, liens, tax amounts, sale dates, etc .... If you don't know anyone at a title company you can use a website, but you'll most likely have to pay for it......

You can request the same info on the foreclosed house... Request the transaction history and it'll show you when the Notice Of Default was filed, when it was foreclosed on, and who the new vested owners are & how much it sold for at auction

I too, have a question for any realtors in the Saloon.

Is it illegal or just unethical for a realtor to offer to sell a person's house and allow that person to move in with them because the seller is terminally ill?

The only reason I ask is that terminally ill client left the realtor a shitload of money and the realtor is a fucking scumbag and I'd love to see her either lose her license or go to fucking jail for what she did to two sets of friends of mine.

That may be considered a breach of ethics ... You can call your states Department Of Real Estate office, and report the incident ..If they feel its worth following up on, they'll do so

If it went through a sheriff's sale/auction, that should be on public record. Have you called that division of the sheriff's office?

I'm not actually down there yet. Figured it would be easier to do in person, where my winning personality could be used to full effect.

Only the dumb ones have to bend the rules... The smart ones realize that its healthier to do things the right way the first time.... If you get caught being shady, your career's over. They're un-hirable ..Word gets around fast in the industry. Once your been labeled a shyster, everyone knows about it
