kevin bacon's new show, the following

the previews made it look like it was going to be some great show like breaking bad or something. then i watched the premiere episode an if it were on amc, it would probably be great. but it's on fox so it's watered down stupid bullshit for idiots who like primetime network tv shows.

    my opinion. fact.
you just don't turn it off.

I thought it was OK. I was hoping for better but since it's on network TV I'll give it a bit of a break. I don't have much faith that it won't turn into a shitfest but I'll give it a chance and see how it goes.

I was shocked they killed her so fast. I thought she would've stuck around longer.

It's way too cliche. English accent psycho + down on his luck ex agent with a drinking problem and ghosts in his past + serial killer story with a weird theme + the semi-nerdy young FBI upstart who knows everything + the young FBI female agent who's making her own way + the someone (older BLACK US Marshal) with a axe to grind with the lead.

It's nothing more than a rehash of Alcatraz ( each week the team has to find X criminal ). It was visually shocking ( the dead dogs, the girl stabbing herself, the dead bodies ), but I really doubt it's going to have a long life. The forumula of a new monster each week gets old fast. ( There used to be a short lived show on FOX called Freaky Links with that formula ). Plus dozens of others I can't recall.

bacon said they weren't doing the killer of the week thing. Plus it's kinda like cable they are only having 15 ep seasons. So they really don't have the time to do the killer of the week.

"The big story is, how far has this cult gone? How many followers are there? What is its reach?" Bacon says. "And also, what's his end game? Is it all about me, making me suffer? Is it about Claire? Your kid? What's the plan? And hopefully the audience is going to be wondering the same thing."

Same here...the concept is interesting with a nutjob somehow developing a group of people to do his bidding. Whether they can keep it from becoming just another cops'n'robbers borefest will be key. I'm willing to give it a shot.

Yea, cause there's good stuff on now. TWK, Mad Men, Breaking, are all off now. There's NOTHING good on the majors. The only thing worth watching now is Justified.

Unless of course DBD is hooked on American Idol ?

I thought it sucked up until the last 15 minutes. Then it got a little interesting.

I'll probably give it another shot next week.
