While driving on a suspended license, she remains ON her cell phone (which is illegal in California) the entire time the Cops are behind her .... A pregnant woman who was pulled over for talking on her cellphone — and then hurled to the ground and hogtied by CHP officers on the shoulder of the busy Harbor Freeway — has been paid $250,000 in damages.

The 30-year-old woman was charged with resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license, but the charges were dropped after a judge was shown a video of the incident, captured on a camera mounted on the dashboard of a California Highway Patrol cruiser.

At some point that's what they're going to need to start doing .... Once the public catches on that they defend these types of frivolous lawsuits (and counter-sue for court fees & legal costs), nonsense like this will start to dissipate..... Right now, people know that if they behave like an asshole, evade the police, and refuse to obey orders .. there's a decent chance they'll escape any charges... AND if they're really lucky, they might even make a few bucks off of it .....Its becoming the norm, so much so that the stupid part of society (that's about 70% of Los Angeles) think that any physical interaction with the police is out of line & deserves a "payday"..Regardless of the behavior that initiated the altercation...

Sure they were justified in thinking she might pose a danger when she, like a fucking idiot, didn't just pull over immediately. Their training employs different responses for different behaviors ... If the suspect is non-compliant (which she was), you're only going to ask her to get down & put her hands on her head so many times before you've got no choice but to move in and do it for her (which is what they had to do, because she wasn't responding to their directives) ...And, they've got to be uniform in their take-down methods regardless of who the person is, or what they look like.... Skinny, crazy white broads can conceal a loaded pistol in their waistband (and pull it out) just as easily as a giant Blaek dude .... I used to sit out on my porch & shoot the shit & have a beer with my LAPD neighbor all the time, back in the day .... He'd always have interesting stories.... I used to ask him shit like that. Like, why do they need to throw people down to the ground so violently when they're arresting someone.... He'd always say that the element of surprise was one of the few advantages they have on suspects.... When the decisions been made to take an uncooperative suspect into custody, they'd throw him down quickly and jump on him before he has a chance to figure out what was going on & potentially offer up a countermeasure...... Swift & decisive. The bottom line is, this lady set the tone for the incident ...Had she simply gotten off the freeway, pulled over, and kept her hands on the steering wheel ..she would have gotten the ticket and been sent on her way. ...It just boggles the mind that even with the ultra-liberal judges & incredibly stupid juries in Los Angeles, that they'd award this broad a dime.. Driving on a suspended license, talking on the phone while driving, and then evading the police ...Yet they STILL throw a bunch of money at her that the State, flat out, doesn't have.....It sickening
