I Feel Dumb Asking This - Looking for Early 90s Song Title/Artist

There's a song that KROQ used to play in the early 90s. I never knew the title or who sang it, and only remember a couple lyrics. For some reason I've been thinking about this song lately and it's driving me nuts that I don't know the title or artist. I don't know who to ask so I'm taking a chance and asking here. Here are the lyrics as I remember them:

The singer was male and sounded like he had a British accent.

Call me crazy, but that sounds like a song by the band Material Issue. Can't remember the name, but I'm about 90% sure.
