i have to say, I'm with NotMyBro on this one. There are obscenity laws in every state that relegate what does and does not constitute obscenity, and bestiality laws and laws related to fecal matter are also state based. That task force was set up because the states are so cash strapped they can't afford to prosecute anybody for this stuff, so the Feds just come in and bust them on federal obscenity charges. Bestiality is illegal in all 50 states, so is eating fecal matter, but since the Feds don't have language that is so specific, they have to use broader charges. Sodomy is still illegal in some states, for that matter, it's just that the Feds aren't interested in rounding up people who make gay amateur porn in Texas...yet.

First of all, this is a Federal matter because this "obscene" porn is trafficked via the internet, so the Feds have jurisdiction to crack down on it. My point is; they're not doing it because we, as a state, cannot.

I can only wish that Ohio, and elsewhere, started making crimes that involve a victim a priority. But we don't. No state does. That animal that punched a woman and threw her into the subway tracks in Philadelphia, I guarantee, will do less time than some non-violent drug offenders. The idea that states can't handle the burden is absurd. States choose not to. Hell, there are states that still have no bestiality laws on the books because they're too embarrassed to address it.

But the truth of the matter is that a guy is going to jail for four years and he hurt nobody and forced nobody to do anything. Is he a scumbag? Yes! Absolutely. He's vile. That's a little judgmental. i agree. as long as they were consenting adults isn't this protected speech? i'd rather see this than the violence in some of those slasher films made in the 80's and 90's(or even django). violence is obscene, not sex.

There was a big discussion on Ron and Fez the other day about if a kid and his parents went to a movie that had sex in it, everyone would feel extremely uncomfortable, yet if the movie only had extreme graphic violence, everyone would be fine with that
