Soooo many gems in this.
Wow, he really came across as a guy who revolted at the thought of marriage. The fact that he proposed 9 months later, pretty much confirms to me that Beth was putting the pressure on him. Even crazy-ass Howard wouldn't willingly do a 180 like that for no reason, that soon.
I love her complete lack of subtlety. Remember Howard mentioned that she was telling him what type of diamond cut she'd want in her engagement ring? "We were at a wedding, and Beth pointed out some cuts that she really liked on some of the women." And then I remember him mentioning the specific one that she liked, and surprise, surprise, that ended up being the cut on her engagement ring.
She wore his ass down, all while Howard was publicly proclaiming she never put any pressure on him (all while cooking him engagement chicken, and pointing out diamond cuts, and talking about how her family was pressuring her, and the doorman...).
Wonder if Howard himself ever listens back to some of this stuff and feels embarrassed? Does he feel regret, knowing that he correctly stated all of the things that wold go wrong if he married her?
