Howard 9 Months Before He Proposed To Beth...

    Soooo many gems in this.

Wow, he really came across as a guy who revolted at the thought of marriage. The fact that he proposed 9 months later, pretty much confirms to me that Beth was putting the pressure on him. Even crazy-ass Howard wouldn't willingly do a 180 like that for no reason, that soon.

I love her complete lack of subtlety. Remember Howard mentioned that she was telling him what type of diamond cut she'd want in her engagement ring? "We were at a wedding, and Beth pointed out some cuts that she really liked on some of the women." And then I remember him mentioning the specific one that she liked, and surprise, surprise, that ended up being the cut on her engagement ring.

She wore his ass down, all while Howard was publicly proclaiming she never put any pressure on him (all while cooking him engagement chicken, and pointing out diamond cuts, and talking about how her family was pressuring her, and the doorman...).

Wonder if Howard himself ever listens back to some of this stuff and feels embarrassed? Does he feel regret, knowing that he correctly stated all of the things that wold go wrong if he married her?

She never out and out demanded it, but the subtle guilt trip wore him down...."Howard, the doorman doesn't respect me, he treats me like just your dumb girlfriend, it really hurts" or "Your kids/parents don't respect us as a couple...it really hurts me."
Lots of stuff along that line....

    From the clip:

"And I'll tell you what else too. If Beth and I, let's say have been married for 5 years now, she won't be worried about leaving me for six weeks. Now she's on her toes. She's like 'hey I can't leave for six weeks. Howard will be out there...'"

"And Robin, Beth wouldn't want a big wedding, neither of us would...we would just have a couple of friends present..."

    Ha!:

"Well one thing I know about Beth is that she wouldn't want any kind of wedding. You know, we both would be like 'let's just go get married with, like, two of our friends.'"

So not only was she totally full of shit, but that's another clear sign that she was passive-aggressively pressuring him to marry her. Why would the conversation of what type of wedding she'd want, even come up, if she weren't trying to push the marriage issue?

And notice how everything she says she doesn't want, ends up happening? "It's ok, Howard, I don't want a wedding!" To make him more comfortable with the idea of the marriage even happening, of course.

I would like you to know that I paused Dire Strait's "Sultans of Swing" to pay full attention to your post.

I'm getting nauseous reading about Beth's choice of diamond-cuts.

What's so sad is that he was already worn down. He all but had a "take advantage of me; I'm an easy mark!" sign around his neck.

    And she did.

It's almost as if every horrible deal he made everybody else sign to work for him came back to him tenfold in his deal with Beth.

    love you, Famous!

I bet one thing she wouldn't want is for Howard to fall down those slippery steps at Chimney Manor.......................especially with those fragile, delicate hips of his.

She's Mark Harris without the songs.

It is certainly one of the things that has suprised me the most about Stern.
In all other aspects of his life he has been incredibly tight and astute with his marbles , controlling every aspect and being extremely carefull never to let any drop.
Yet along comes this lanky horse faced polock daughter of a dentist fraudster who seems to have easily taken him for the long con.
( if i had you guys photoshop ability this is where i would insert the beth face ontop of Newmans on "the Sting" poster)

In the recent time when they dont even spend new years together or sleep in the same room, it should be becoming clear to him that her con is at it`s end and she is about ready to look for her long earned payday.

Spot on. She held open the choke chain and Howwie just his jabbed his pelicanesque noggin right in there. It's been over 10 years now, and you just know there's a payoff in that prenup there somewhere for longevity.
But like your avatar, the REAL payoff would be:
