The Who for sure, maybe Cream. As much as early Van Halen kicked ass, I don't think so.

I missed out on seeing them live...Bonzo died when I was 14. I got to see the Page/Plant show in OC back in the 90's. Almost made me cry.

Interesting enough, the first real concert I went to was with my old man for the first Deep Purple reunion in '84 .... They didn't sound anywhere near as good as they did on the Made In Japan record, but it was still one of the great highlights of my youth...

Still one of my favorite live songs....

Now that you've had some time to reflect, can you now concede that they were the epitome of Seattle dorkiness ??

I've NEVER liked Pearl Jam. In 1990-91 when that shit was first hot, I didn't get it. I liked other Seattle bands. I liked Soundgarden and Mudhoney and Nirvana. I even kind of liked that Temple of the Dog album. But I've never owned a Pearl Jam album, and I've never even paid attention to an entire playthrough of their first album (which is either called Ten or Eleven). I saw them in a small venue (with about a thousand people) where they were opening for the Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magic tour) along with Smashing Pumpkins. Pearl Jam were boring and then Eddie Vedder jumped from the balcony into the crowd.
