I don't understand these talent shows. Bunch of smoke and mirrors bullshit. I think I watched 2 or 3 episodes when that Bo guy was in the competition. It was horrible. The contestants are up on stage with Seacreast asking for votes and doing little hand-gestures symbolizing people calling and voting for them.

It's stupid. And it's no surprise the stupid concept came from Britain. The Brits do some great stuff but they lay some massive eggs, too.

Isn't "The Voice" another Brit concept? Isn't AGT a Brit concept?

Enough said. Fuck these "talent" shows.

It's bizarre. But if you meet the fans of the show you'll discover it's a lot of "middle-Amurika" types. My parents watch that show. I know grannies who watch the show.

the biggest problem with white trash reality bullshit is that it's on every channel. you can't even get away from it on history channel or A&E. gtfo my tv.

Let's try to figure out this mystery.

High IQ people delay reproduction and have fewer children. Lower IQ people have them earlier and have more of them.
Immigration skewed towards generally lower skill, lower education, (and presumedly not high IQ) people from places where they have more children than Americans do.
Welfare state that pays for rearing and educating the children of the above, reducing any incentive to procreate less and get an education instead.
In the past, fear of deprivation limited procreation by low-functioning people. They were afraid they might starve. We've removed that fear. Now all they fear is that they might have to get a job.
We have a horrible public education system that spends more time indoctrinating on various political issues than teaching the basics and how to use logic and higher order thinking. Disruptive environment, disinterested parents = minimal education.
Falling real wages and higher consumption of luxury goods means most people who do work and do have children spend less time with them and are too burned out to teach them much. Debt slaves don't have time for kids.
Computers and TV are de-facto babysitters, leading to the social and intellectual skills of a JD Harmeyer.
A narcissistic culture and "self-esteem" movement tells everybody they're great already, so little attempt at self-improvement is made. Books, culture, and ideas give way to tits and ass, fake reality drama, and laughing at people getting hurt.

Morons need entertainment too. There's just many more of them today than in the past due to the above. TV producers go where the audience is.
