Usually these kinda shows have a talent booker and its usually a young indie chick.
You'll notice how many soundtracks of TV shows now are full of modern indie bands.
I think DirecTV is paying someone $200k to be the talent booker for this show.
Maybe its one of those indie chicks who doesn't understand what kind of music they're asking her for.
I like to think they've given the job to that Soul Joel guy and he just gets whoever the fuck he can.
"Buy one o' these Bocchetti calendars and ya get on the show"...
Its probably some guy in the music industry who only gets acts thru promoters/managers he knows and he just doesn't know enough different people.
When you think of the quantity and quality of bands going through New York its mind boggling that they only get these ones on the show.
it's worse, a bunch of these bands say shit like they drove in to do the show or haven't performed in months, etc. Nonsense
watching on directv now, having read artie's book it is cool seeing him interact with orlando jones.

I was wondering who they have booking their guests too. As far as the sports guests go, Ive never heard of any of these folks. And when you look em up, they're a bunch of scrubs who never play anyways. Last night's guest, Darnell Stapleton, they were calling 'Super Bowl Champion' etc but the guy played 14 games in his entire career. He was on the Steelers roster when they won the Super Bowl but not even sure how much, if any, he even played that season if at all. And he was signed by the Patriots but released 2 days later. And as far as the bands go, Ive never heard of most of the bands they get on the show. Just seems like they struggle to get any big name guests on their show or whoever's job it is to bring in bigger names, just isnt very good at their job.

Yeah. And I kinda feel like the Artie Lange show is better. I'm finding it more enjoyable anyway.
I don't want to tell you how to do your thing, but to me the thing about songs is any lyrics you sing should be a direct reference or comment on something that's going on in the show, either on the surface or "inside". I don't know if sometimes you just sing stuff because you think it's a funny song in a random sort of way. Or maybe I'm missing the connection to the show somehow, I don't always catch everything. But being a part of a show, a good show anyway....it doesn't have to be especially profound or insightful (but can be), but definitely, connects to something, or builds off it.
I was wondering about the sports guests. There's no way for me to have heard of them, but I did wonder if they were famous or not.
I'm not really worried one way or another about the sports stuff. I just tend to tune out a bit while they talk about it.

Ok the Issa segment is totally boring me. Bocchetti repeating toungue twisters during the break was hilarious though. "She shells sheshells ba da sheshore.." Haha
imagine the eye rolls from you know who, road comic, during the mad tv segments. So glad he's gone. Hell, the band is even a real rock band. And the show has finally become a sports show not really about sports, not a sports show trying to fake they know sports
so, um, aeeetie, what about that nba game. Red sox signed, um, you know who, Phil Niekro
