    Now this always confuses me. We're thinking of getting a generator for the house in Roatan. Is 7kw enough to run a house, or how much is plenty?

    Oh yea, shit. You probably have a ton of lighting and stuff. That's gonna throw me off. You're gonna need someone out there with an amp-clamp to measure what you're pulling with all your essential shit on plus any A/C units which are gonna need a lot of juice. Unless you know any of that info.

    But they sell generators just for homes there. Everything we use is electric (water heater, stove, AC, security lights, grow lights, etc etc) so we want a decent one I figure it will cost around $5000 or $6000
