Yup I gotta agree. Love Artie but I don't see this lasting long. It's just a matter of time before Artie falls back into the sweet embrace of heroin. He can't handle the pressure & responsibility of running his own show. What happens when HE calls out sick? Is it going to be the Brent Mannix show? The Dan & Mike Comedy Hour? Puh-leeze...

"i'm all for taking care of the homeless.....i just don't want them living near me"

Artie is a good interviewer because he does have that near autistic memory on a variety of topics..music, movies, comedy, sports,.

Nemo, you're a funny poster, but I'm pretty sure that if Fox televised Artie's suicide attempt on Prime Time TV you'd be watching it with a bucket of popcorn and a beer...

Anyway, two shows in is not the time to judge. Let's wait for a permanent co-host, and Artie to have time to figure it out. I know the people who just don't like him wont give him that, but you can't redefine a show's flow overnight. It's nowhere near perfect or 90's Stern, but it's still as good as any radio going right now in my book.

It was fun and funny to the low IQ zombie fans when their bloated hero didn't prepare for the show.
The guy will not even watch Sports center.
It was big bad Nicks fault that they had to end the fun with evil commercial breaks or do a scheduled bit.
Why can't Fatso just blab on endlessly about an amazing meal he had in 1998?
Nick & Artie show.....belligerent Artie stomping his feet like a giant baby or he is napping...no in between.

    You got what you wanted.
All the pressure is on Artie.
    The Artie Lange SHOW!

Like I said, I love Artie and always wish him the best, but I've followed his career long enough to know that it always ends badly. Hell, Artie even admitted this to Howard after throwing shit at that fag Teddy. I wasn't the biggest Nick fan but he kept the show rolling along. I don't see Artie being able to keep up any schedule for any period of time. That said I don't see this new show lasting long..

    Nemo makes some fair points
Reppin Nick and Artie since Day 1

It would have been amazing if Fatso physically attacked Nick on that last show of 2012.
But we know Artie only strong arms girls and little guys.

I'm not saying he's wrong about anything, just that it's been said about 1 million times already. I get it, Artie's a junkie who has never left a job on good terms (except as a longshoreman) and the odds are in favor of his fucking this up. If he wanted to be made patron saint of road comics getting jobs they weren't good enough for in the first place, he could have quit in protest of Nick (even though he probably wanted that to happen, but who knows). Next we're going to be told Howard wears a wig...

The reason I don't get the people who routinely bash Artie is because he is the anti-Howard. He tells you he's a junky, that things always end badly, he can't handle pressure, etc... Howard tells you he cares so much about not ripping off his fans, when it's all he does, not to mention he became everything he used to criticize. In Artie's case, the guy on the radio now is the same guy doing coke in the pig costume on MadTV, scoring coke in Canada during the Dirty Work shoot, and going back off the wagon and throwing CDs at Sal and bum rushing Teddy. You can take him as he is and listen, or turn the dial, it's free radio.

I like Artie, but DirecTV made a big mistake.
I hope they have a Plan B ready to go when Artie starts calling in sick.
My comments are based on my opinion only.

How many threads did I post in on the first page here?
...and where did I post that I would celebrate Artie's death?

Nemo, you just seem to have some bizarre joy in this, basically it comes across as schadenfreude. I don't get why more than one post about it isn't enough, you don't like Artie and seem to want him to fail (even if not relapse/fall back into depression, but I wouldn't be surprised if it lead to that). To quote the Bobby Petrino press conference, "Let him live.".

Didn't Artie miss time twice(2 separate occurrences) because of the flu in December?
Artie got his feelings hurt on the last show of the year during that Bonnie Bernstein interview.
Daddy Nick had to worry about commercials and preparing for the show and doing scheduled bits.
Baby Artie threw a tantrum doing the fantasy sports picks on that last show.
He got Nick fired.....now it is all on Artie.

It's good they got rid of Nick because it would be a real tragedy to alienate W. Kamau Bell so much that he'd refuse to come back to the show again.
