nobody's talking about "owing" anybody. you're falling into the same trap the Fosters of this world have fallen into.
it's basic human curiosity is all. tell/don't tell, but people are gonna ask.
it's human nature.
and i don't believe you don't give 2 flying shits about anyone's sexual preferences. if there was a "click here to find out which Hollywood a-lister is gay" link, you know you'd click it.
again; it's human nature. don't act like you're above it, eb.
"I heard you're.............really....................sick" - devoted wife Beth Ostrosky, to her husband, H. Allen Stern
I am not trying to say I'm above anything. I've bought People magazine, I read the websites, I am as big of a yenta as anyone.I just personally find it more impressive when a celebrity can keep their privacy. I have more respect for them I guess.
I promise you, I could NOT care less. I'm a current events and Hollywood gossip reader as much as anybody. I read all the Lindsay Lohan arrest stories and giggle. I have to tell you, her little lesbian stint/experiment/whatever did nothing for me.
I meet 10 different people a day and their sexual habits are the last thing I worry about. Foster didn't fall into the trap, she avoided it. She's been "out" for YEARS. There are thousands of photos of her walking around town with her ex. They were a couple for ever and everyone knew it. She was "out" on her own terms is all. I believe her point of all that was why do I have to hold a press conference to be considered "out"?
It's just not that big of a deal.
Now if HOWARD came out...
I completely agree. This times 10x if you are married to a trophy wife who is draining your bank account and being a pain in the ass.
"Smile and blow me" is one of the great lines of this century and needs to go on a t-shirt with a picture of Mel either from Braveheart or the Road Warrior
I give her much props for this. Now that is being a true friend.
Much of Hollywood is las fucked up as Mel, he was just caught on tape and Mel never seemed to suck up to the right people in show business. His religious views piss off alot of showbiz and when he went off on his own, made passion of the christ, and made shitloads of money by making a movie that was loved by a faction of the company that hollywood absolutely despises they were even more pissed off.
What Alec Baldwin was caught saying to his kid was far worse if you ask me but he's friends with the right people
I totally agree with this. It's nobody's business what she does in her private life and it's not like she has been trying to hide it from the public view or anything, and if she did that's totally her business. For once a celebrity is trying to live a quiet life and she gets shit for it. There was no need to make a big production about coming out of the closet, she simply thanked the loved ones in her life like anyone else would.
very well said, eb. i'm going to stand over here now...................corrected.
edit: but there are two scenarios, and i forgot to make the distinction:
there's being out without coming out like Foster has done it, and I'm with you; i don't care about that
but the "seems to be living a lie to try to get people to think they're straight" thing? yes, i'm curious about that, and i believe most people are

I loved when he called the female officer during his DUI "sugar-tits".
He wound up sending her flowers afterwards.
I don't know if he sent the jew-cop anything.
I was thinking the same thing yesterday when I first started reading this thread.
They seem on great terms now, though........................I'm sure Mel and his gold-digger aren't.

I think some of them don't officially come out, no matter how famous they are and how widely known and discussed their closeted gayness is, because they still face the same issues non-famous people do with actually admitting it to and dealing with their parents and families.
And I also think some of them, more and more increasingly, are very cynical and calculating and saving their "coming out" as a silver bullet, a publicity stunt when their career is faltering or stagnant or they just need some attention.
They're like the equivalent of those porn stars who work the xxx adult industry for years saving their (on-camera) anal cherry and then finally giving it up when their career has plateaued and needs a spark.
