I know several things that would make me happier. Fuck you money would make me happier. Say $10 million after-taxes? That would make me happier than the US stopping its imperialism.

Hmmm, the ability to travel in time would make me happier than a cessation of US imperialism.

Trying to think of what else. . . . . I guess ending of all hostilities throughout the world. That would make me happier, but that's kind of incorporated into the US not being an imperial state.

Call me crazy, but money doesn't mean much to me if I'll have to spend it within a growing, engulfing police state.

Fuck you money protects you from it. And besides, you can always move out to some other place. With a pile of money, you can leave the US behind and go to New Zealand or something.

In that way, the old "libertarian" saw about poor people not having skin in the US economy is a sham. The poor in the US are pretty much STUCK in the US. They can't get out. Bill Gates CAN get out.
