Artie already broke the "calling in sick" seal, and they reward him by giving him the keys to the car? This will end badly. Somebody needs to be an adult, and without "Best Of's" to fall back on....Artie is going to have to work 6 months in a row to build up content. Good luck with that.

You make a lot of good points, but I've got to think the powers that be have some kind of contingency plan in place...........................or at least Jody Mac, Bonnie Bernstein, and Jeff DeForrest on speed-dial. It ain't much, and I won't listen to those shows, but if they can hold down the fort, so be it.

But yes, doubling-down on Artie is a terrible bet, but at least Artie will put on a funny and entertaining show when he is there.

And even 60% Artie is better than any radio show or podcast I've heard in a looooooooong time. Yes, there's the one-off great podcast if somebody has on a great guest, but to me there's nobody up to Artie's quality on their own.

One fear I do have with having Artie on his own is he'll have on a steady stream of people he knows; the guy who parks his cars who also juggles, the maitre d' who's trying to break into stand-up, the "old friend" he just "bumped into" at AA, etc.

That will suck.

I'm actually a fan of Rick's and have been since first hearing him on tough crowd. His standup routine is far better than Artie's (while Artie is the better radio personality). If they actually canned him that is the height of stupidity as he was the one who kept the show on schedule. I'm interested in hearing what happened
