She's heartbroken about usually AMISH puppy mill but I'll bet her wallet is made of endangered sea turtle..I could really say something about groups like NSAL going in and taking dogs..But that's a whole different can of worms..not going there..Let's just say NSAL finds these little rescues quite profitable. A New Year, A New Life for Puppy Mill Dogs

January is the perfect time to make a new start in life—and no one deserves a new life more than the dogs rescued from puppy mills!
This month, North Shore Animal League America is continuing its lifesaving partnership with a wonderful organization called National Mill Dog Rescue, a non-profit dedicated to rescuing dogs from puppy mills—large-scale commercial breeding facilities where dogs are kept in horrible conditions. The breeder dogs live out their entire lives in cramped wire cages, with little or no medical care, exercise, socialization or affection. Many of them literally never set a paw on the ground.
These photos are from a rescue that came in on January 7, 2013, and we will have another arrival in a few weeks. Sixty-six puppies and adult dogs found shelter, safety and love at Animal League America, and we will soon find them loving homes.
Looking at the beautiful faces of these rescued pups and dogs from mills, it’s nearly impossible to imagine the conditions in which they lived before their rescue. The reality is that most mill owners see dogs as no different from property, and treat them accordingly. When the dogs outlive their breeding years, they are often destroyed. If a puppy isn’t sold before it reaches about six to eight weeks old, it’s also considered damaged goods.
Animal League America and National Mill Dog Rescue work together to save as many of these precious lives as possible. Through our partnership, we bring them to the safety of our no-kill shelter, give them all the medical care they need, and provide socialization and affection so that dogs who are especially traumatized can begin the journey to healing. To us, these dogs aren’t property; they are living, breathing beings who deserve full, happy lives with people who will love and treasure them.
I’ve witnessed the sadness on the faces of many of these dogs as they came off our rescue van—and I’ve also been privileged to be there when they find the perfect match with an adopter who is dedicated to giving them the lives they deserve but have been denied for so long.
Please, please always adopt a pet from your local shelter or rescue group. Don’t buy that cute puppy in the window of the pet shop, and don’t patronize pet stores that sell puppies.
Educate your friends and families about puppy mills and encourage them to adopt a Mutt-i-gree®—any rescued pet, whether mixed or purebred. Knowledge is our greatest weapon in ending the puppy mill trade.
When you adopt a Mutt-i-gree, you’re saving a life—and trust me, you’re the one who will end up feeling blessed and grateful!

So if I understand this correctly, the dogs for sale in pets shops are treated horribly, bred by monsters, have never seen love, and now we're supposed to make sure to tell everyone to LEAVE them there, right?
