I was a little dumbfounded the way he was treated like a deity after his death, always sounded like a huge asshole to me.
Someone should bring up the name Steve Wozniak to Howard, he would probably guess he was a writer for Mad Magazine.

RIP Bro-

I just want to say, as a pc Nerd, Steve Jobs did do some innovative stuff, but back when he was at NeXT. The original NeXT OS was away ahead of its time and foreshadowed what Windows would later become, but that was the last time he did anything innovative. Apple's genius after his return was and is that they take technology associated with "Geeks" and make it cool/acceptable for the novice. For example, I had an IBM Thinkpad tablet with a detachable keyboard that WAS an ipad back in 2006, except that it used a stylus rather than touch screen. I can't tell you how many people told me it was stupid and it would never catch on because people needed keyboards and wouldn't be able to figure out how to hold it. There's something to be said for over charging people for already existing hardware that you present to them as "new" and making it work as a business model, though.
Seriously though, read up on the NeXTcube, it was really cool - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NeXTcube
Read Walter Isacson's bio of Jobs. I can't stand Apple but I read it anyway. He was a huge prick, countless examples of it in the book.
