something similar happened to me on the LIE about 10 yrs ago. i was in the left lane in my Z4 with the top down...i noticed a truck going pretty fast beside me in the center lane. i sensed something was about to happen so i slowed down in time as the truck's tire blew out and swerved into my lane.. it happened so fast but something was looking out for me that day. i never went on the LIE after that again.....i either took the northern state or side roads to avoid trucks.
