Think about it from Howard's perspective. He's built his whole career on having a bunch of chicks in his studio. Imagine he came out as gay? I think in his mind, the whole future of the show would be ruined. It's like how people say he feels he needs his hair to feel cool. It's like that times a billion.
Him having a separate room from Beth on vacation is odd as hell. I also rolled my eyes when he claimed to have lots of sex with Beth on vacation. He also claimed to have the flu. Here's a chick who uses every excuse in the book not to fuck him. She's gonna fuck him with the flu?
The only reason I could remotely see that happening is because it's clear that Beth essentially prostitutes herself. She seems to only enthusiastically have sex when she's getting something (Howard saying that he has her get naked when he gives her gifts).
