    Wow.

I re-do the house over 24 hours and this is what I read? I really hope Nick isn't gone--I like the chemistry (although Artie was always going to be 99% of the draw/comedy) and I think Norm and Artie would be a great fit. Adam Carolla, no chance.

Someone here said it was a Judas move if Artie didn't back his buddy up, and to you I say under contract, so Nick's salary for the next 1.5 years is guaranteed, and Artie can't leave for breach of contract. I'm sure if Nick really is gone, he's gonna be fuming, but as long as he's getting paid, he won't care too much.

The show was perfect when they were in the old studio, I don't understand why they would screw up a good thing by splitting them up, let alone all the changes since they went to TV. PeaceDog is right, if Artie continues on with the show with someone else, that's a real dick move. If it wasn't for Nick he wouldn't have the show.
    Yes and no.

If you recall, they filled in for Tony Bruno a couple summers back, and based on their chemistry, they were offered a contract with Direct TV.

I think, without Artie, Nick does not get that 500g's a year. If Nick's gone you can be sure he's pissed because he got to be the invisible straight man who was responsible for keeping the ship steady. Artie was the fuel, he was the engine. In show business terms, however, Nick had to know that there was no way they were ever going to be equals, regardless of their salary level. And watching Artie get 50,000 a night (for stand-up) and him having to settle for maybe 10,000 a night would get on anybody's nerves.

MPA, I agree with everything you said. Great detective work. Also, what happened to everyone bitching about Nick and wanting him replaced? We get what we (or most of us) wanted and suddenly there is all of this remorse for Nick. He isn't a had person, but he's bad on the radio, that's all. A Norm & Artie show would be great, but I don't think Norm is going to the east coast, and Norm still makes a lot of money doing stand up in Vegas so I'm not sure they could pay him enough with Rick's dead salary hanging over the show. I'm really excited about this, as long as they don't screw it up by hiring another bad co-host.

Maybe DTV is just Looking to develop the channel with MORE shows...
    Giving Nick a show.
    Giving Artie a show.

Brent Stover better not replace Nick. His stupid phony "official broadcaster" voice makes me want to punch him in the throat. Zero personality, nothing interesting to say. Everyone will be having a real conversation and then he would always bring it to a screeching halt with his fake put-on Ryan Seacrest "THEEYAS.....IS AMERICAN IDOL" voice.

I actually like (or liked) Nick on the show. I think he's better than any other fill-ins I've seen so far. I did a lot of fast-forwarding through all the replacements. Maybe they're wanting to get someone that actually knows something about sports if it's going to be a sports show.

I agree, mere. Artie & Nick have good chemistry. Even when they fight - it's good radio. And they play off each other well - especially with the whole Boston/NY rivalry. If Nick is gone, then I will miss him. And I'm not sure if I would listen to an "Artie-Only" show.

But not you, keep your postings going here until the authorities start knocking down your door.

What was the saying Artie has about "armor against verbal bullets"?

If this is true then praise Jesus this is the best news ever! The show artie did by himself was awesome. took great phone calls and the show really had a good flow.

And then when Rick came back and Artie was trying to tell a guest this story and Rick jumped on him cutting him off maybe that was the tipping point

Gunnar, are you implying that MPA should expect a visit from Nick Dip and Mike Baker in the middle of the night?

Also, it's okay to let go Gunnar. The Nick and Artie Show is dead, long live The Artie Show. It's like when you were young, and had that old beater car that you learned to drive on. Sure, it felt bad to see it go, but then you got the car that didn't break down, burn oil and pull to the left, and pretty soon you forgot all about it.

    Hi! I’m new here.

I’m a fan of the show but unable to listen live as I’m in Sweden, I rely on the podcasts for my daily fix. What’s going on? Why are this week’s shows not uploaded on iTunes? I know they have a guest host but that hasn’t stopped them from uploading shows before. Has the rest of the crew (Falato gelato, Shane, twins and Bocchetti) all been in there these first two shows?

To me, the secrecy is the biggest indication that something big is going down. The fact that they couldn’t sort this over the holidays probably means that it’s a fairly sudden change of plans (both Artie and Bocchetti recently tweeted that they would be back on the 7:th). While I don’t interpret Nick’s silence on Twitter as definite sign of him quitting, I find it odd that Baker wouldn’t write something there just confirming that he’ll be back.
