It's pretty obvious now, he is fired.

We joined the dots pretty fast on this one, it's gotta be said.

The red flag was Artie's "going threw some changes", when he said that I knew somebody was going, never really thought it would be Nick though.

My guess is Directv felt they weren't miking Artie enough, Artie's the bigger name, why not have the "The Artie Lange Show".

    Fucking faggots.

To me it seemed like Artie was getting on Nick's nerves a lot as of late. I can't remember what Friday show it was, or what guest it was, but I remember when they were reading off their picks for that weekend and Artie was trying to explain to the guest about them being in the Sirius Fantasy Football League and doing well and Nick flipped on him that they had to get through them and it turned into an awkward fight between the two of them. I can remember Nick saying something like-"Will you let me get a word in!". There were other times they had a fight, but that's a recent one I can remember. Not saying this all stems from that, but I do think there could have been tension between the two. Heck for all we know, maybe that was why Artie was out all that time, because he couldn't deal with Nick.

Good point. DiPaolo was really a nobody before all this, looks like he might be one all over again. The praise Artie was giving Carolla for choosing who he wil only work with was very telling. I heard an interview with DiPAolo recently where he said him & Artie were never really close friends. Plus we all know how Artie feels about co-workers, they r never his "bro's".
One last thing, Artie left the N&A holiday party early last month and I think Nick was a no show. Maybe the clues were there all along ..

Yea, why have Artie tell a story, when rick can tease a story from deadspin,
Deadspin ‏@Deadspin Bullpen cell phones are coming to Major League Baseball next season. http://deadsp.in/V3JqPSk

hea, did you know cell phones are coming to MLB bullpens, so you know who, Kevin Eubanks can order the Red Sox fried chicken. Oh c'mon that wasn't a racist joke, damn chicago liberals - that's what we missed tonight, verbatim

Or perhaps Ken Kohl saw how poor the show was without Artie & figured they don't need to be paying $500,000 a year for Nick..

My contact from the show texted me last night saying Artie was in LA doing promos. This would explain why he didn't reply when I asked, "Promos for what?"

Artie has repeatedly stated how much he loves Rick's act, how they went on the road so often (which, of course, was Artie giving Rick many multiples more than he could ever get on his own for rick to do 20mins) and Rick has said a couple of different times in interviews how they don't know each other. You know that shit got back to Artie. Artie tripped over himself drying RIck's balls, and Rick never once seemed to credit Artie --- how much money has Artie put in Rick's pocket?

I do think Artie got fed up with Rick and Rick's resentment for Artie having the career he has and being able to buy and sell Rick - giving him 50gs to come out to the Universal theater, or 10g to play some small theater in the tri state.

Artie has always be a proud union member (Longshoremen & SAG). I remember in one of the very first shows Nick would rag on unions saying they were all corrupt and "ruined this country". I remember Artie getting really pissed and actually stopped talking for about 10-15 minutes giving Nick the silent treatment and teaching him a lesson how hard it would be to do the show without him. Nick struggled to keep the show going and has never spoken ill about unions since. That plus I'm sure they've had words behind the scenes over Artie's nodding off on the show recently...prolly a lotta bad blood, resentment & jealousy behind the scenes with those two..

I think there is too. I could not go to work each day with someone that miserable (Nick).

I'm sure Artie will be crying in his mussels marina over this.

Artie carried that no-talent for over a year, allowing his wife to buy a horse and a stable and some servicing from some Guatemalan day-laborers, which is far more than Nick ever deserved.

yes, they're "faggots" for focusing on the talent of the show and dropping the dead weight.

and no, "we" didn't join any dots.........................mpa joined the dots. you thought it was the twins getting fired.

You really are a hopeless faggot.

One sided. Rick resents Artie, he's convinced himself that he's the real talent. Guest after guest, caller after caller did nothing to shatter that

From what I understand that what they were paying him a year for a 3 year contract. He mentioned he didn't want to blow his "1.5 mil" early on when the show first started..

How the fuck did you come to the conclusion the Nick is "dead weight", can you not even admit that he's been giving it his all for the past year and and a half.

And you really think that Artie can carry his own show? He's been late, fired, quit and missed a good few days on his own show in the past year and a half. Artie's made for the sidekick roll, all he has to do is chime in here and there and that's what he does best.

Thanks for the random attack by the way, keep it classy

I don't like ANY of this but if they replace Nick with Adam Carolla this could be a juggernaut with the 2 top choices for the Artie chair joining forces. But don't expect Carolla to play nicer than Nick, they're like 85% similar.

Say what you will about Nick all you detractors I think he's one of the best pure stand up comics and roasters in history. I've NEVER seen him do a bad job on a roast or as a guest. I'll post his Stern roast and I DARE you to tell me he's not AS funny as anyone in the biz!?!?!

You're delusional. The Artie sycophants on this site are disgusting. Artie is an admitted loser. A twice suicide. Once he did it where his mother and sister would deliberately come home and see his dead body. One last "fuck you" to his family. Nick is not miserable. Artie is the real head case. Get real. Artie stabbed himself and timed it so that his mother and sister would come into the house and be traumatized by his dead body.

Nick isn't the one who got arrested in Europe for ranting in the streets and calling his girlfriend a cunt. He's not the one who went for years on heroin. He's not the one getting suspended for pissing in trash bins. He's the one carrying the entire show. You know...the one who actually pitched the show and put it in place. The one who had a $1.5 million contract lined up before Artie was involved. The one who pulled Artie from rehab and put him in a steady job and got him back on talk shows and doing standup.

Artie could carry his own show if he was sober and well manged. The show could easily be the Artie and Nick show. But it wouldn't work if Artie is getting arrested for screaming 'cunt' out in public. Or getting suspended for pissing in the studio. Or calling out 'sick' with the flu. And so on.

Sure Artie has talent. There's no doubt that he is funny. His standup DVDs are great in my opinion. But on his own look at Beer League....that movie almost killed him. He said he was pounding down drugs during that movie because of the pressure. Imagine him trying to stay sober hosting his own name branded radio show. Yikes.

If Nick was fired that then is truly abhorrent by Artie. Nick is a high level standup so he won't starve (and his manager is one of the best in the business). But Artie really is a maniac so I honestly wouldn't be shocked if he stabbed another of his radio hosts in the back like he did with Howard (or even Mad TV).

So now Nick is available for the Artie chair on Stern I guess!?!?!? If Nick was hired on Stern he's actually EXACTLY what the show needs, but it's sooo emasculated now with faggotry there's just no way.
