Do you shave with a straight razor? I tried it but I bought this awful useless strop on Amazon and wrote the whole idea off

I tried a while back. It was, again, a 1095 blade, but I ran it on throught my Spytderco Sharpmaker and an ultrafine stone..then stropped it. It took off about half of my beard off and then shit got ugly.

I lost all interest with a straight razor at that point. I usually keep a beard so learning the straight razor seemed counterproductive.

That being said, I can take an ESEE Izula or Spyderco Endura 4 and hone it so it'll shave like a champ. I prefer a convex edge almost exclusively. I watch my edges to work for me more on a practical level though. I get the whole straight razor thing, but I'm just not dedicated enough to really hone my skills with 'em. Pun not intended.

Missypooh was the nickname I used for one of the first cats I got when I got married... Her name was Missy - so as a term of endearment, I'd call her "Missypooh"...it's a Southern thing, I guess. My parents are from Alabama, so almost any girl could be called "Missy"...like, "Whatcha doin', Missy??"

The RN thing - pretty self-explanatory... I've been a nurse for just over 16 years.
