More nightmares or sex in your dreams?

Neither really. I guess sex would have the edge but those are infrequent.

I used to have night terrors---fucking things were horrible. Now I wear a sleep mask, and they stopped. I have crazy dreams all the time

yup, they are always grounded in some kind of reality. Familiar people, familiar situations, but the "story" for lack of a better term makes very little sense. Always very vivid, and I usually remember them, especially if it's right before I wake up in the morning

What exactly are night terrors? Do you have horrible nightmares that make you freak out or is it just an unprovoked screaming fit?

no they are very real. You get caught in between being asleep and not quite awake. Usually I would "see" something that seemed very real. I would usually jump out of bed and run and get my mother (when I was younger) or when it happened in college someone in the dorm.

I would tell them one of 100 different things, snakes in my room, a man in the closet, ants in the bed, and they would be able to talk to me, and come to my room to look for whatever was freaking me out. As I got older, I would be able to identify when they were happening and calm myself down. But imagine a panic attack, but you can't tell reality from a dream.

Thr sleep mask works because when you open your eyes, which you do multiple times during sleep, you can't see anything, so your brain doesn't get tricked.

    I know tl;dr

I can still remember my first one, I was 13, at summer camp and I freaked my roommate and the counselors out because I was convinced there was a big hairy spider in my bed
