Pop music of the 2010s

Imho, we're off to a horrible, horrible start. Now I'm not one to be a fan of pop music from any decade really, but I swear each decade is less and less respectable overall.

What's with all of this homogenous noise? I watch a countdown of the "best songs of 2012", and damn near every song on the list has got the same lame club beat throbbing overlapped with generic synth while (insert female) belts on about her independence from men or how much of a slut she is, or (insert male) goes on in auto-tune about how he is a player and parties 24/7. I swear, almost every song fits that. Save for maybe Adele.

Yeah the last decade was terrible, but at least there were acts in the mainstream still representing alternative, rock, metal, and hip-hop. None of which really play a role in today's pop music at all anymore. I honestly think radio music has hit and all-time low. You thought it was bad before? It's worse now. I cannot believe that anyone would want to listen to it anymore, even the same people who've always listened to radio.

Anyways, that's my rant.
