it depends on the size of her estate. The executor is charged with gathering the assets, paying the bills and distributing the net proceeds to the named heirs. If she has a good attorney then the paperwork isn't that difficult. It only gets hairy if she has tons of crap to sort through and get rid of.

She also had tons of clothes she wanted to go to Goodwill, along with a lot of money. Her brother was the executor, and he did a ton of work including getting her house sold, he was entitled to a fee, but chose not to take one.
Have a frank conversation with her, tell her that you will do it, but she has to keep the will simple (no leaving nick knacks), and to get rid of things now that she doesn't use
