I'm probably in the minority here but they didn't need "New Coke" either.
The original's camp factor mixed with real horror was why the film was so successful. Like Elias, I too am beyond sick of remakes. Some things just need to be left pristine. More evidence that Hollywood is purely out of ideas or is afraid of anything truly new and cutting edge.
I'll give them a pass since they're not trying to remake the original. They doing a balls to the wall horror flick.
Totally excited to see how they do this. About 5 years ago I saw this at a double showing of some shitty indie horror movie. There was a huge crowd for the indie, and when it was over .... EVERYONE LEFT ! It was literally like me, my co-worker and like 3 other people watching Evil Dead on an original 35mm print.
I've promised myself I won't sit there and compare the old to the new, but I know I will.
