I had the flu this season. It was fucking AWFUL. I haven't had a flu shot since 99, but I will get one from now on.

High fever, bad chills, very sore throat, swollen glands. Congestion, runny nose, fatigue, achy joints.

I had the flu 3 years ago and was useless for a week. I could not keep any food down. I had chills, fever, and dizzy spells. I had absolutely zero energy. It was just awful. I've gotten the flu shot since then.

i got the flu shot this year. i have to. people on dialysis have to get all shots for pneumonia hepititis and flu. we're more susceptible to illness. i didnt get the one that goes up your nose. that can get you very sick because that's a live flu vaccine. the one in the arm is dead. you want that. i got the flu shot early and i seem to have missed this horrible flu thats going around. my parents JUST got their flu shot but they have been sick for 2 weeks now.

My buddy claims he got the flu from the vaccine, but he didn't say it was the kind that goes up your nose. he said it was an arm shot.

I should be getting a flu shot every year. Asthma. But I haven't had one since 2000. I always used to get the symptoms about a week after getting the shot, so I gave up.

First of all the flu shot covers the most prevalent strain that they are expecting for that year. You can still get another strain of the flu. The flu shot does not stop you from getting any form of the flu.

I don't get the flu shot, but have no pre-existing conditions like fcc or anf. Wash your hands and hope that some sick fuck with the flu doesn't snot in your face, you will be fine. There is no guarantee that the flu shot will keep you from getting the flu anyway.

If I worked in the medical field, a school, or heavily populated office I would be more inclined to get a flu shot. In the end it's all a crap shoot, but washing your hands thoroughly and frequently is still your best defense against all the nasties. If you have a lot of neighborhood kids running around your house, old fashioned Lysol is a must for the house, and some kind of chlorox type wipes for door knobs and hard surfaces. Just my opinion.

my brother almost died from the flu last week and he has asthma so it was a double wammy...I don't get the shot, I got the shot years ago and got the flu, I was out for two weeks so I don't get anymore.

Asthma sucks, it affects everything. I get a head cold, it goes to my chest for 2 weeks. Broken finger nail, it goes to my chest.

I get a flu shot every year, sometimes 2x a year if a new strain shows up. i get cold symptoms for about 2 weeks after getting the shot. its way better than getting the real flu. the last time i had that was > 10 years ago and it put me out of work for about 8 days during which i spent all day in bed drugging myself to sleep. 10 years older now, i will wear a glass bubble if it keeps me from getting laid out from the flu again.
