No.. i graduated with a BS in biology, passed the MCATS, and was accepted into stony brook university's medical program but after starting school i decided not to do it anymore. Working in a hospital and seeing people physically suffer was too much for me unfortunately. I knew i wanted to be in a medical field and help people, i fell into the funeral business and loved it.

What makes a great sports book?

well first off they must have a place to sit. esp. during football season. Lots of books down there are too small. Plenty of betting windows is nice and large displays/TV to watch the odds and the games. Hot beer wenches and easy access to food since you sit there all day depending on the sports season. Best time of year there is NFL playoffs and NCAA tourney.

I'm partial to The Mirage and Caesar's, mostly because of the location. There are so many great restaurants---for Thai Lotus of Siam. Hot and Juicy Crawfish for creole, Raku for Japanese.

I always go to see the Legends show at the Imperial Palace---it always has new acts and it has "Elvis"--plus the price isn't too high. A lot of the best acts are in the Lounges, you usually only have a one or to drink minimum (if that) and it's more casual.

If you tell that same story to the whores in Vegas they will have to act interested because you are paying them.

Agreed, I went this past May and stayed at the Mirage, they renovated all the rooms and the staff were very accommodating. It also depends on when the OP is going, it was 100°F every day so if you like to hang out at the pool during the day like we did, find a hotel with a good pool, like Mirage or Mandalay Bay. If you're there to sight see or gamble, don't go for a higher end hotel since you're barely going to be in the room anyway. There's deals to be had all over the place, especially with the credit card companies and free flights. Just have to do some research.

That'll get a pretty sweet room on the strip, not any kind of penthouse craziness but a nice, decent room. I would suggest staying right on the strip since its your first time, and the closer to the center of it, the better - Paris, and Planet Hollywood may be the exact center of the strip, and the last time i was there they also had the best restaurant selection IMO. The Hard Rock is a little off the strip, has a much much smaller casino and is definitely more for those under 30; the famous NOBU has a las vegas location here.

Mandalay Bay has a beach and wave pool to hang out at after you are relieved of all of your money on the first night. Great hotel but at the far end of the strip.

Be sure and try to complete your whore card collection. The fine Mexican gentlemen standing on the streets hand them out by the ton.

The snapping sounds they make with the cards are pure genius and takes years of talent to perfect.

Okay, I'm back from the doctors office ... let's see, restaurants:

My top picks for Sushi would be:
    * Blue Ribbon at The Cosmo (incredible selections, right down to the cuts of tuna)
    * Hyakumi at Caesars - small, but VERY fresh sushi
    * Yellowtail at Bellagio - my friends said it's v. good, but a bit loud/nightclubby in here
    * Bar-Masa at Aria - fresh fish from Japan, daily!
    * Muzumi at Wynn - the chef studied under Alex Stratta! Also incorporates some Korean dishes
    * Kabuto Edomae Sushi - Never heard of this one; it's off strip, has a good write - up:
    http://www.gayot.com/restaurants/kab...4lv121002.html

Thai -- Of course everyone's heard of Lotus of Siam, and while their food may be excellent, I find that their customer service SUCKS. Web page says "Call for reservation" and then they never answer the phone. when they finally DO answer, they say that they're booked solid & why didn't you call earlier. Plus the location is horrid. -- Stick to Sea-Thai at Ballys or Lemon Grass at Aria.

Indian -- your best bests are Mint Bistro http://mintbistro.com/ or Origin India http://www.originindiarestaurant.com/
I think Origin has a better atmosphere.

All those places are in the casinos. When I go I want to get my no reservations on and go to the places tourists never go. Want to go someplace cool in between shows of penn&teller and amazing jonathon.
