Maybe I'm in the minority, but I didn't really find this type of conflict riveting (the 9-11 one). Maybe because it took on the feeling of straight up bullying. I mean, it's always like that on the Stern show, but KC doesn't have the quick wit of Fred, Jackie, etc., or even the natural will, it seems, to mix it up. Now that I think of it, I don't think he's ever been mean-spirited toward anyone on the show. I can't even recall him goofing on Gary's lips or anything like that. So I guess that's why this one was so uncomfortable to me, because it wasn't like the usual exchange of barbs, which usually happens on this show when stuff like this goes down.

Plus, there seemed to be so much real malice coming from Robin. I generally agree that she gets knocked for doing some of the same things that everyone else does (hence me not hating her like most people here do), but this time stood out to me as an example of why people hate Robin. John had some malice too, I think (like I said, I think that he was mad that KC ascended higher than him), but he was at least trying to coach things into seemingly funny one-liners. Robin was just spewing venom. Nothing funny about it. And it's her way about her. She shouts over everyone, laughs at her own non-funny bullshit...it was just hard to listen to.

And on top of that, it's the hypocritical bullshit of not being able to take anything herself. That's human, I understand that, but at least don't attack people on a level of 100, if you're like that. It's just unfair. Where do you get off being so hateful?

Then even when they were in a commercial break...John was telling KC not to be mad and they were just kidding, and Howard was telling KC that he understands why he got scared. Clearly, they were all trying to talk him down. Then here comes Robin heeheeing, continuing to berate him, and throwing a dress at him. She can't read a room to save her life. It's amazing to me.

It was riveting in the sense that it was clear that KC was on the verge of killing someone. So in retrospect, knowing about all of his violent thoughts and everything, it was really interesting to watch. When he admitted years later to thinking about harming people there, I bet that this was the incident that he was referring to. Again, though, he suffers from crazy guy syndrome. Because who wouldn't be feeling superbly angry when it's a huge, nonstop, pile on like that? That shit went on for a good thirty minutes.

This was always funny to me. Howard, who is the biggest pussy on the planet, was busting someone else's balls for wanting to go home wile buildings were collapsing...

Robin once told of a story when she and Howard were in a car, I think it was in Brookyln. Some squeegee guys came up to the car and she says that she never saw anyone so scared.

Soon after KC left, they shut everything down, trains, bridges, tunnels. NY was an effing mess. He was the only smart one.

Only thing on Howard's mind was the $6 million he just spent on his condo and the scary thought that it might lose value because of the chaos.

Will respond to your post, SuperFrats, in a bit.

This clip confirms what I thought, about Stuttering John being jealous of KC, because KC surpassed him in the hierarchy of the Stern show:

Fast forward to the 9:20 mark, to get by the Benji stuff.

The clip is hilarious too, because even after watching the whole KC Staff Game bit, I still don't get how the game was supposed to work, or the point of it. The befuddlement of the whole staff was hilarious. That had to be the most unclear, pointless, way to run a game ever.

I miss the old show. I miss things like this. And Stern better realize that these old clips are the only things keeping him in high regard, so he better not go after clips on Youtube. It helps his legacy.

    KC was the best.

i actually sent him money for his DVD and, naturally, never received it. He did respond to a couple of my e-mails with some pretty funny replys.

I love the clips, too. The staff were much more like a crazy hate/love crew than post-Jackie's era. I felt bad for KC, though, when he was actually struggling to recover from his "outburst."
    Thanks for the clips, everyone!

Robert Higgins, I loved the KC First Grade Essays clip.

What did KC say in his email replies to you?

Anyway, here's KC taking a lie detector test:

"He wants to go clothes shopping with Henry Role-lins." I literally laughed out loud at that.

    I like this Youtube comment:

Ed is a perfect example of why lie detector tests aren't permissible as evidence in the court of law.

These three clips offer the most fascinating glimpses into KC's psyche from the show. Therefore these are my favorite KC moments on the show.

    First clip:

Fast forward to the 3:40 mark and watch until the 12:30 mark (the rest of the stuff in this clip is the lie detector stuff that I posted in a previous post).

KC talking about how he likes young, virginal, girls (or "totally unmolested things", in his words).

Gary: "Howard I'm off the gay thing, I'm almost worried that he's a serial killer."

    Second clip:

"Women should be smart enough not to submit to that! We're all animals, man. Men want to...they're violent, they want to control, and be possessive...that's just the way it is."
    Gary: "He's like a pedophile!"

    Third clip:

Gary: "You're a 23 year old stud, with the brain of a 40 year old priest. What's going on in there?"

My thoughts: I think that KC and the show are on two opposite ends of the spectrum. At times he seems crazy because the Howard and the gang have a very shallow, "easy", view of everything. On the other hand, KC definitely has a ton of issues. It's a shame he left the show before they could really be delved into (I think the conclusion Howard & the other others were coming to are kind of off base). My money is on his mother cheating on his dad, or his dad being very abusive to his mother.

The whole need for control thing may also stem from some childhood abuse. He always tends to hesitate when saying "no", when asked if he's ever been molested.

Gary has always said that KC was by far the most fascinating staff member on the show, and after hearing these clips, I especially agree.

Howard really does get off on the misery of others, and it goes far beyond the excuse of a "bit" for a show. That's his cover. The way he piles on when KC is clearly upset...he goes out of his way to make a snide "Jason, you're doing a good job, btw" comment, when Howard knows he specifically hired him to take KC's job and make him feel on edge (same stunt Howard pulled when he had Benji sitting over Jackie's shoulder writing). So here you have a guy starting to blow up over Howard saying that he's doing a bad job, and then he brings in the guy who's taking his job, and specifically praises him at the same time.

Mind you, Howard also knew that KC was crazy & on medication when he was doing all of this (he mentions KC's medication at the beginning of the clip).

But most telling of all is Howard's slow-spreading smirk as he gives that little praise to Jason. If it were said just for an authentic, non knife-driving reason, he wouldn't start to smirk as he said that.

Then we're supposed to think that KC is crazy for finally really reacting.

Which brings me to this point Illuminati Jones made, that soooo sums it up:

It's so true! People are made much worse by this show, I really believe that. And Stern happily cashes in.
    Yay! Me!

    Thank you.

After listening to some of the original clip, and thinking back to the infamous bro fight, I don't think Robin has cancer; I think she is cancer.

    She's a 250-lb. tumor on life.

Maybe this was the same incident, but I remember Robin talking about being out with Howard & his family. Someone was acting in a threatening manner toward him and the family, and he jumped right into his car and left his family outside! LOL.

Meanwhile he's busying pretending that he'd punch Howie Mandel right in the face.
