    Bonnaca/Guanaja

Many of you aren't aware there are THREE islands where I'm from, with Roatan being the biggest and the most tourist-oriented. Next is Guanaja, or Bonnaca as we call it in English. It was discovered by Columbus and named Pine Island because it had a ton of pine trees. Sadly they were trashed by Hurricane Mitch lol

Bonnaca is much less developed than Roatan, and almost everybody lives on a Cay instead of the main island. When I was young the black people lived on the Cay and the whites lived on the main island. It's mixed now though

Here's an overhead of Bonnaca/Guanaja. It's an official Marine Reserve but you can buy land there. They also have some really cool waterfalls

This is the Cay where everybody lives. There are no cars or scooters or even bikes there. Everybody walks, both on the Cay and the island. To get around you go by boat. They NEVER stop partying on the Cay. Never.

In the foreground is Graham's Place, a cool little spot with big sea turtles and barracudas and groupers and stuff

That may be the most awesome picture/place I have ever seen. I would love to live there. Do you have to work if you live there, also how and where? Happy new year G, you are the best.

Yes you need money. The people who are from there are fiercely loyal to it though. They say the only reason to ever leave it is to find work or get an education, both of which aren't happening there
