not that i disagree, but then why do they keep talking about the future, and her book, and yesterday she was talking about some party she was going to throw? any thoughts?

I think the reason they are deflecting is purely business, and is the reason Howard didn't want Robin to make any announcements. Let's say Robin announced that she had terminal cancer. Cancer would then completely hijack the show going forward. It would be The Cancer Show, the elephant in the room, and the show would cease to be a comedy show (too easy to make a joke here). How could it not? Of course it's still the elephant in the room, but it's a baby elephant. They will make an announcement of some sort when they are forced to make an announcement.

I work as a funeral director and some terminally ill people do throw these kinds of parties.

Oh my God - a friend's mother in law has a 'terminal' illness and she bought her coffin in advance. She had her coffin wrapped in pink cloth with a fuchsia bow on it, because her life has "been a gift". She and her family took a bunch of pictures with it. This was 15 years ago, and she is still kicking. I think some people just need attention.
