I remember when he was promoting his leave for satellite radio, he was apologizing for the quality of the shows that he'd been doing for at least his last year at terrestrial radio. He gave interview after interview where he said he would have quit radio completely if he hadn't made the deal to go to Sirius, as miserable and frustrated as he was with the rules and practices of traditional radio. At Sirius he'd have all the creative freedom he wanted, and free reign to program two channels in any way he saw fit -- not to mention the latest in technology, a much bigger paycheck, and a 20% shorter work week.

Now his story is that he was on top of the world, at the height of his powers, with all of terrestrial radio in the palm of his hands. No mention of the creative freedom (that he used to say "cock" and "bullshit,") no mention of the channels (that he programmed 90% with reruns), no mention of the huge paychecks and four-day weekends.

And now he says the idea for the merger bonus came to him when he feared that XM was going to merge with Sirius and fire him -- even though he devoted airtime everyday for about a year saying how good and necessary this merger was. I hope the case goes to court and Sirius lawyers use his own audio, video and print interviews against him for some high-profile , high-cost humiliation.

Huge gamble when your first 2 week's paycheck means you're set for life.

Show's what an out of touch douche bag he is. A big risk would be quitting your job, borrowing against your own assets and starting your own business. Not already being wealthy and taking another job that could make you more wealthy....asshole.

Well, at least today's show was interesting...A couple of good interviews and (whether you agree with him or not) a solid Stern rant.
I kind of liked Gary and Hein in studio...They weren't bad...

Yeah... Worked out so well for him... He's completely irrelevant, and those that do know him realize what a cunt/douchebag/whore/hypocrite he is...

If he didn't have Mel to conspire with, he would've been fired years ago.
The above is strictly my humble opinion.

Wow, big gamble to go where you have the freedom to say whatever you want without the FCC fining you, bit gamble to make in one year as much as you did in 3 years of regular radio, big gamble to move when the show was good and people still wanted to listen. It's over wiggy pack it up. Too late there is no damage control, you have ruined your show, your celebrity status and your former fans hate you, your legacy is forever ruined, your old shows are worthless except for a few short clips that people around you made interesting and funny.
    Howard is a Vomit.

It was in the bag for him. It was a lock how successful it was gonna be. Total bullshit coming from him.

The FCC was the best friend he ever had. Without that suppression.........................without that standard to rebel against, he would have become the no-trick-pony lost at sea that he is now, only decades earlier and before his big paydays.

The FCC has literally made him at least $1,000,000,000.

He's whining about "wanting to tell this story to a jury of his peers"- mangling the concept of what a jury IS: unbiased members of the general public.

Besides, what peers/sympathisers does Howard even have? Any?

Now he's sobbing into his empty wine glass, what a fucking COCK-sucker.
