I have acid reflux and take Prevacid for it. I also drink wine from time to time and it does nothing to me to cause acid. Howard is full of shit. I do agree that whisky and beer can fuck up your acid though.

The dr likely only told him to be careful with how much he's drinking, and Howard's bizarre paranoia turned that suggestion into quick drinking for good. He also obsessed with losing weight and staying rail thin, quitting drinking is just another step to hitting his target weight
